Reading Climbing Centre

At Reading Climbing Centre, we pride ourselves on providing top quality facilities for all our customers.

Alongside the impressive climbing & bouldering facilities, the onsite Picnic Cafe is a great place to relax and watch the action with a panini and a latte, and the Urbanrock climbing shop are here to sell you any shiny new gear you may need and offer expert advice on your next climbing trip!

The industrial heritage of the ex-forge, provides an impressive backdrop to activities in the centre, whether you’re high on the climbing, bouldering or training walls, or taking time out from your day with friends.

For those seeking roped climbing, Reading Climbing Centre hosts 121 climbing lines, which are a mixture of top roped and lead lines.

Our main lead wall is an impressive 14 meters high, with a complete competition roof arch extending routes to a possible 20m! Surrounding this are a wide range of other fantastic climbing lines of all shapes and sizes, specially designed to cater for climbers of all abilities. We re-set all our routes regularly to make sure there is always something new to try.

Our climbing hall is in the main area of a converted steel forge, and we have retained the original crane and gantry which provides an interesting link to the building’s industrial past.
It’s a great place to climb, meet new people and socialise.
