Hop aboard JORVIK’s improved ride experience and be transported back in time over 1,000 years! You will discover the impact of international trade on Viking-Age York, including the evolution of a multicultural society in the city, as it’s not just trade goods that flowed into Jorvik but people from across the globe! Plus, with 22 new animatronics across the recreation there is something new to see around every corner. The centre’s gallery experiences have been completely updated, with new display cases allowing you to get up close to the astounding Viking artefacts that inspired the creation of JORVIK.

Wheelchair users must pre-book to prevent unexpected waiting, wheelchair access throughout most of attraction, accessible toilets, large print and braille guides available, guide dogs are welcome.

Present your Max Card on arrival.
The Discover Coppergate area and galleries remain accessible and we have 360 tours that can be watched through a headset for visitors who would still like to come along. Guide dogs also remain welcome in these areas.
Please be aware at this time that emotional support animals that are well trained and wearing a harness will be welcome in the Discover Coppergate area and in the galleries, but will not be able to access the walking tours.
