I am John Hippisley, your host for the Canterbury Ghost Tour, I’ve been conducting ghost tours in the city since 1995 and in that time people’s attitude towards ghosts has changed. I can’t guarantee you will see and ghost, but then again nor can a guarantee you won’t. The tour is an entertaining & irreverent blend of history, humour and haunting, in the oldest parts of the city. The duration is just over an hour full of strange stories and occurrences, which will stay with you.
The city of Canterbury has played host to the footsteps of all nations over the years, their memories and hopes are impressed into the fabric of the city, and some can feel their presence still, as we stroll through the darkened streets. The moon’s sparking beams guide you ever closer to the Cathedral, and remind us of the Historic events which have shaped our city’s history, and made it the special magical place it is today, where you as a stranger but always leave as a friend.
If you have a group of 15 or more, we can offer special rates for your party. The tours are suitable for any age and can be tailored to suit your personal requirements. They are conducted in easy to understand English and tale just over 1 hour to complete. The tour is designed to be enjoyed by all ages and linguistic abilities, suitable for Birthday Parties, Hen Nights, Corporate entertainment, and Language and school groups, it’s a great way to learn about the city under the cover of darkness, but if you are only here in the daytime we can offer the new Horridly Historic Tour too. This includes plenty of interaction, role-playing and fun for all age-groups, or combines this with our meal options (See above) to make an effective fund-raising event.
