Important Notice – The hall and galleries are currently closed for a 2.3 million infrastructure project and due to re-open in summer 2023. The gardens, restaurant, shop and play area are open as usual.
Beningbrough is not a place where time stands still. Built in the 18th century, many occupants have changed the face of this Italian style house and gardens and it has an intriguing story to tell. Now home to changing exhibitions in the Saloon Galleries, it’s also well-known as a family friendly day out. Previously shortlisted for The Guardian’s ‘Kids in Museum’ award and highly commended in the Little Vikings family awards for several years.
Families enjoy spending time and exploring together at Beningbrough. In school holidays there are often events or special activities and trails. On other days, tick off over 35 of the popular ’50 things to do before before you’re 11 ¾’ play list. At the wilderness play area climb the clamber stack, and pyramid tower slide, reach dizzy heights on one of the swings or build yourself a den.
In the restaurant you can build your own lunch box or get a special portion of the days menu served, or grab an ice cream and a drink on the go.
