Since it opened in 1968, Gosforth Pool has been one of the city’s most popular facilities. It is a welcoming family centre with two pools, a two-floor fitness suite, an exercise studio and a sauna suite.
The pool offers a range of activities from general swimming to specialist sessions that include swimming lessons for babies, children and adults, aqua-fit, aqua-natal, and life-saving classes.
There are also adult-only, women-only sessions, as well as lane swimming and children’s fun sessions.
The Gym is a state-of-the-art facility, located over two floors. £100,000 was spent to re-fit it with brand new CV (cardiovascular) and resistance equipment in December 2011.
