The Foundling Museum explores the history of the Foundling Hospital, the UK’s first children’s charity and first public art gallery. Discover the intriguing story behind this important London institution and the children who grew up there.

We offer a fun and creative day out for all the family. Children can explore our interactive displays, dress up as characters from the Foundling Hospital’s history, and take an artistic adventure through the Museum with one of our creative activity trails. Fans of Jacqueline Wilson’s Hetty Feather books can explore the Collection and life at the Hospital through Hetty’s eyes with a dedicated trail. Discover what life was like at the real Foundling Hospital for Hetty and friends.

Enjoy our changing exhibition programme, or take part in one of our free family workshops on weekends and during school holidays. These fun sessions enable children to learn about the Museum and its exhibitions, whilst making something special to take home.
